Family is Awaken to a Machete Attack In Their Own Home
SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, SONORA, MX – Thanks to the timely help of neighbors, a possible tragedy was avoided when they managed to contain a machete attack against a marriage.
Staff members of the Attorney General of the State of Sonora (FGJE) obtained the preventive detention against Jose Manuel N for the charges of qualified homicide, trespassing with premeditation and intent to harm Calixton N.
The aggressor is also charged with the injuries committed to Zaira Angelica N.
Attack
On June 9, around 04:00 am, the victims were sleeping in their home located in the Del Bosque neighborhood. There were also two minors inside the house, the offspring of the marriage.
The husband, Calixton, was awakened by strong knocking on the door. When he opened the door, the person told him that he would kill him because of old quarrels, and began attacking him with a machete.
When the wife realized her husband was being attacked, she intervened and tried to disarm the now accused. She was unable to disarm him and was also injured with the machete. Due to the cries for help from the victims, several neighbors came to see what was happening.
The neighbors were able to disarm the attacker and subdue him. They then called 911 emergency phone line and local police were dispatched. They officially arrested the attacker and processed him to the FGJE.
