Electoral Year in Mexico Arrives Accompanied by Dirty Campaigns

HERMOSILLO, SONORA, MX – The start of the electoral year in Mexico arrives accompanied by dirty campaigns, lies, infamies, and fake news, a situation that is not unknown to the governor of Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich Arellano.

In a video, she recollects that five years ago, together with her family, she suffered from that “dirty game” when running for the Sonora state government.

And, she says, at today, although she is not running and her name will not appear on the electoral ballots, she is again the target of fake news attacks.

“Some characters see me as the rival to beat, even though I have demonstrated for five years in office that I rule for all of my constituents, for everyone, with everyone and for everyone,” she said.

The governor stressed that they invent all kinds of gross news and lies about her and her family and that she does not know what they will come up with in the future.

“I am very clear that with the election year the attempts to deceive Sonorans are going to come, that is why they invent gross news such as an alleged purchase by my in-laws of Frigorífico Contreras, a packing and trading company,” she added.

Pavlovich Arellano said that they have gone as far as to make it look like actual news that have been published in newspapers.

“The same newspaper media denied it, and my in-laws did not buy that prestigious company as they themselves have already said countless times, I tell them very clearly, lies will be answered with truths and slander with results,” the Sonora governor said.

The state representative said that she will always show her face and will continue working for all Sonorans until the last day of her administration.
