Economic Reactivation in Arizona

On Monday the Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey, released the next steps to reactivate the state’s economy and reopening businesses.

The Governor issued an Executive Order allowing cosmetologists and salons to resume appointment-based services this Friday, May 8, while restaurants and cafes will resume dinner services with physical distancing measures beginning Monday, May 11.

The Governor’s Office also published additional guidelines for keeping customers and employees safe.

Under the order, salons, barbershops, and cosmetologists can resume operations on Friday, May 8, provided they establish and implement safety protocols and best practices.

These include the use of face covers for employees and customers, who operate by appointment only and who follow protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

As well as the Occupational Safety Division of the United States Department of Labor and the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).

In addition, restaurants and cafes can resume dinner services on Monday, May 11.

Owners must establish and implement safety protocols and best practices, including the enactment of physical distancing policies, limit the number of diners and follow the protocols that are indicated.
