YUMA, ARIZONA, US – An illegal shipment of methamphetamines valued at 113,000 dollars was seized by Border Patrol officials in western Arizona.
The seizure occurred at an immigration checkpoint located on Interstate 8, when Border Patrol officers selected the driver of a Toyota Camry for inspection, following the alert of a trained dog.
Agents from Wellton Station conducted a secondary inspection of the vehicle where 50 vacuum-sealed packages containing methamphetamine were found.
The drugs were hidden in the gas tank, the back seat, the rear door panels, and the vehicle’s air filter compartment. The combined weight of the 50 packages was over 25.4 kilos.
