Donation for Medical Staff in Nogales
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – The business community of Nogales, through the Rotary Club, acquired protective medical equipment for Covid-19 for the benefit of the medical social services.
Hipólito Sedano Ruiz, president of the Rotary Club, announced that there will be three deliveries of protective equipment provided to workers in health services during this worldwide health pandemic.
On Friday, in the first delivery they will distribute 200 overalls and 200 overcoats, as well as 10,000 gloves and 1,500 shoe covers. The equipment will be used as indicated by the doctors in charge of health services.
Acquiring these items was possible with the help of the members of the Consejo Empresarial Nogales A.C. and soon they will be providing two more deliveries.
The approximate dollar amount for the acquisition of these supplies is 7,000 dollars.
Sedano Ruiz conveyed to the medical community including doctors, nurses, security personnel, stretcher-bearers and others who collaborate in hospitals, that they are not alone.
“Businessmen work daily to help medical workers with the necessary equipment to keep them healthy during this health contingency’’, he added.
Health Services Directors
Juan Antonio López Rivera, State General Hospital Director, said there is not enough medical equipment to fulfill the demand created by this pandemic.
The doctor thanked the Rotary Club and Consejo Empresarial Nogales A.C. for their donation of equipment.
“There is going to be a shortage because we use a lot of personal protective equipment in hospitals with just a single patient; having three, five patients, will triple the use of material, he added.
Mercedes Gameros, director of the Health Center, stressed the importance of being well equipped since they not only serve patients in clinics but as an outpatient unit, they also carry out home visits as a follow-up. It is very important to use personal protective equipment and this team is required to maintain the health and safety of medical personnel.
