Despite Essential Travel Restriction, Border Wait Times Increase

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – For the third consecutive day and despite the restrictions of only allowing essential travelers, the border wait times at the land ports of entry into the United States exceeded two hours.

Since Sunday, borders such as Nogales and San Luis Río Colorado have documented a strong presence of international travelers in the border crossings ports.

At Denis DeConcini international border, yesterday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, the average wait time was two hours.

While in the case of the Mariposa border, CBP registered an increase in wait times documenting 90 minutes at 2 pm.

San Luis averaged a five-hour wait time on Monday, but on Tuesday it documented a four hour wait time between 12:00 and 2 pm.

In Douglas-Agua Prieta there was a 30-minute wait time to cross the border. Sonoyta-Lukeville Port of Entry as well as Naco did not document border crossing wait times.
