Criminal Group Attacks National Guard Members in Magdalena

MAGDALENA DE KINO, SONORA, MX – A criminal group in Magdalena de Kino shot National Guard members, who repelled the attack and seized their weapons.

In the attack, there were no injuries or casualties. The guards quickly responded to the shooting and managed to secure a considerable shipment of ammunition.

The incident happened around 11:30 am on Monday when members of the National Guard were patrolling a site located between the Federal Highway 15 section Magdalena-Imuris, near the exit to Cucurpe.

The guards repelled the attack by adopting a defensive counterattack position, maneuvering with the vehicles and foot, they controlled the situation, making the attackers flee in different directions.

The area was secured with the support of the Mexican Army seizing six rifles, 17 chargers, 450 cartridges and tactical equipment.
