Crimes in Nogales – Summary

Juvenile Rescued
Local police assisted a twelve-year-old girl after being found wandering down a dirt road near the Nogales neighborhood Pueblitos located west of the city.
It happened last friday, April 10, when the police received a report on the 911 emergency phone line, reporting that a minor was alone near a self-service store on Avenida De los Maestros.
The police found her and transferred her to a DIF Municipal shelter for her protection.
Cyclist Hit by a Car
A 59-year-old person was hit by a car while trying to cross a street riding his bicycle.
It happened Friday afternoon at 1:00pm. José Ricardo Miranda was driving his bicycle along the main street in Nogales, Obregón Avenue when he was hit by a car.
As he tried to cross street Ana Gabriela Guevara, he was hit by a Ford 1994 pickup truck driven by Gabriel René Rodríguez.
The cyclist received assistance and was transferred to a hospital, while the driver of the car was transferred to the State Attorney’s Office to determine responsibilities.
Stolen Vehicle was Recovered
Local police found an abandoned 1995 Dodge Ram pickup on Calle Puerto Rico, in the neighborhood Esperanza, which had been stolen days before in another sector of the city.
The vehicle was found Saturday at 1:40 am when agents were patrolling that area of the city, and upon reviewing the car’s plates and serial number they realized that it had been reported stolen.
The owner was contacted by the authorities, who came with the corresponding documentation and the car was delivered to him. The owner refused to file a legal complaint.
