Candy Store Thief Arrested
A man was arrested moments after a downtown candy store was robbed.
The case was reported Friday at 3:54 p.m. when local police were called to go to the candy store, located on Avenida Obregón in front of Plaza Miguel Hidalgo.
Upon arriving onsite, the officers saw a man running away, they went after him and caught him on Abelardo L. Rodríguez street.
25-year-old Samantha N, an employee of the candy store “Candy’’ told the agents that a few moments before the thief entered the store and stated he was carrying a gun.
The employee was scared and ran to hide in a corner of the business.
When the thief realized he could not open the cash register, he opted to steal a basket with bags of candies and ran away.
The detained was identified as 36-year-old Julio N.
The police advised the victim to file the corresponding complaint.
Man Commits Suicide in Workshop
One person ended his life at his workplace by hanging himself with a cord tied around his neck.
The case happened on Friday when local police received a notice to go to a vehicle repair workshop located between Avenida Tecnológico and Calle Campodónico.
At the repair workshop, agents met with the owner Felix N.
He said they found a person hanging from the ceiling of the facility with a cable around his neck.
The victim was 42-year-old Jorge, who lived in the workshop.
State authorities gathered evidence and ordered the removal of the body.
