Man Shot to Death After Argument

After arguing with his ex-partner, a 28-year-old man was shot to death during the morning of this Thursday in a central area of the city.

According to official reports, the crime occurred in the first minutes of the day, when an emergency call requested local police officers at Aguirre and Fenochio streets, in the Fundo Legal neighborhood.

They found 28-year-old Cristian Montijo lying on the ground. Police officers called Mexican Red Cross paramedics but when they tried to help the man no longer had vital signs.

At that time a woman arrived at the location of the crime and identified herself as the ex-partner of the deceased.

The woman told police officers that moments before, she was in that location arguing with her ex-partner because Cristian wanted to keep one of their daughters for a while.

As they were arguing, two cars arrived, a Chevrolet Camaro and a Jeep Cherokee, from which armed individuals got out and took the woman into one of the cars.

They told her “the problem is not with you” and they forced her into one of the cars and took her downtown. She was released near Dennis DeConcini International Port of Entry, approximately one kilometer from the location of the crime.

As she was being taken away, the woman stated to officers that she heard two gunshots.

When her captors released her, she went to a relative’s home and asked for a ride back to the location of the crime to then realize that her former partner had been murdered.
