Woman Hospitalized After Being Run Over by a Car
A 23-year-old woman was hospitalized with life threatening injuries after being run over by Francisco N, 65, who was driving a Chevrolet, Captiva, 2008.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. on Juniperos Street, in the Bicentenario neighborhood, in the south of Nogales.
The driver was detained and the victim was admitted to a local hospital where she was treated for head trauma and limb injuries that were life-threatening.
A witness told the police that moments before he had heard the driver arguing with the woman and shortly after she was hit by the driver.
Authorities will investigate if the incident was an accident or on purpose.
Stolen Vehicles Found
Local police officers located a stolen Chevrolet pickup, 1997, during a patrol on Nueva Uganda street, in the Nuevo Nogales neighborhood.
It was Wednesday morning when agents found the car with the windows down and the hood open. They ran the serial number and found that the car had been reported stolen.
The agents located the owner of the car who went to pick it up, refusing to file a formal complaint about the crime.
In a very similar situation, in the same neighborhood, but on Nueva Dinamarca street, the agents found a Dodge pickup, 1998 with the hood and the left door open.
When reviewing the documentation, they also received the information that it had been reported stolen.
The officers called the owner to identify and pick up the car, when he arrived, he refused to file a formal complaint for the car stolen.
