Covid19 Update – Santa Cruz County

Nogales, Arizona, USA – Two additional cases of COVID-19 were reported in Santa Cruz County, bringing the total number of reported cases in the county to 29.

The City of Nogales is unaware of whether the two additional cases are travel-related or community spread.

According to a press release of the City of Nogales, Santa Cruz County website reports that 12 of the 29 have recovered from COVID-19.

According to data provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services, 155 tests have been reported in Santa Cruz County.

Tests are reported to the county where the individual being tested lives.

While elderly populations are at higher risk, younger populations are not immune to the virus.

In Santa Cruz County, many of the confirmed cases (12) are individuals between the ages of 20-44; 21 cases did not have a chronic medical condition and the same number of cases (21) were individuals not considered to be at high risk.

All residents regardless of age or medical condition should continue to stay home.
