Covid-19 Update – Arizona

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, US.- Arizonans woke up this Wednesday with a cumulative of nearly 4,000 infections and 142 deaths due to complications of  Coronavirus.

Case count increases by hundreds from one day to the next; so far documenting a total of 3,962 Covid-19 infected patients, according to the Arizona Department of Public Health Services.

Senior Adults

People 65 years of age or older, have been the most affected by the pandemic; of the 142 deaths in Arizona 101 of the victims were in this age range.

In the age range of 55 to 64 years, 23 people have died from Covid-19; 14 have died from 45 to 54 years range and 4 lost their lives in the age range of  20 to 44 years.

Contagion

The most affected county in both deaths and infections is Maricopa with 60 deaths and 2,146 infections.

In Pima County there are 700 people infected, 12 in Santa Cruz County, 15 in Cochise and 18 in Yuma.

To date, 45,310 tests have been performed, the most in Maricopa and Pima counties, where 28,332 and 5,728 people have been sampled, respectively.
