Covid-19 Update – Arizona

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA – 24 new deaths and 479 new infections of Covid-19 were confirmed early Wednesday by the Arizona Department of Health and Social Services.

The death toll rose to 831 and the number of infections in the state to 17,262.

In Santa Cruz County there have been 188 cases of infection, in Cochise 63, in Pima 2,119 and in Maricopa the number reached 8,627 cases.

The three counties in Northern Arizona also document a high number of confirmed cases. Coconino has 1066, Navajo 1652, and Apache 1250 cases.

Of the 17,262 infections, 2,331 have resulted in hospitalization.

Pima has had 400 hospitalizations, Maricopa 1128, Cochise  11, and Santa Cruz 4.

To date, the number of tests that have been applied is 279,550, of which 5.5% has tested positive for the presence of Coronavirus 2019.
