Covid-19 Update – Arizona

Phoenix, Arizona, USA – In a single day, Arizona health authorities documented 19 deaths from Covid-19 and 273 new contagions.

The number of infected people rose to 4,507. That is 273 more than those documented last Thursday, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services statistics.

Deaths

The age group of 65 years or more is the most affected with fatalities; of 169 deaths 122 are in this age profile.

Deaths in the age range from 55 to 64 years also increased to 28; from 45 to 54 years were 14 and in 20 to 44 years profile goes 5 fatalities. Six of every ten deceased are masculines.

The areas with most fatalities have been Maricopa County with 69 and Pima County with 51.

Cases

Of the 4,507 cases detected, 1,652 are in people with an age between 20 and 44 years; 1,126 in the age range of 65 years or more; 815 from 45 to 54 years old; 748 from 55 to 64 years and 161 in people of 20 years or less. There are five more cases in the “unknown age” category.

To date, 49,230 Covid-19 tests have been applied.
