Pandemic Does Not Stop Illegal Immigration Attempts
TUCSON, ARIZONA, US.- Even in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic era, the attempts to cross the United States border illegally do not diminish.
Days ago Border Patrol captured two women accused of smuggling people, as well as five migrants who were traveling in the trunk of their vehicles.
Ajo Rural Areas
One of the cases occurred in rural areas of Ajo, when patrolling officers approached the driver of a Nissan sedan. It was a 25-year-old woman, resident of Phoenix who was arrested when she was detected transporting three illegal immigrants in the trunk of her vehicle.
State Route 85
A similar case occurred at an immigration inspection checkpoint located on State Route 85, near Gila Bend, where officers caught a 39-year-old woman, resident of Phoenix, transporting a couple of migrants in the trunk of her car.
The five undocumented immigrants were expelled from the United States and returned to Mexico, while the women, both US citizens, were arrested and face possible charges of human smuggling.
