Controversy Over Video of K9 Released on Suspect

PRESCOTT VALLEY, ARIZONA, US – Police officers from Prescott Valley, Arizona released a trained dog to subdue a fugitive, even though he had already surrendered and was following the officer’s instructions.

In the video, the officers appear to take exessive time to restrain the dog, which repeatedly keeps biting the person identified later as 28-year-old Alfredo Saldivar.

The incident occurred in Prescott Valley, Arizona, where the video was recorded by the body cam of one of the officers.

The video shows how the agents, carrying handguns, provide instructions for the fugitive to surrender; and he follows all the indications such as getting on his knees, raising his hands, and laying on the ground.

But despite this, one of the agents released the K-9 to attack the man, when visibly, according to the video itself, there was no need to do so.

The released footage is graphic, the man pleads to the agents to restrain the dog, but they take some time to pull it back, and end up congratulating the animal by saying “good boy.”

Take a look for yourself and draw your own conclusions. In any event, police say that the suspect was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was eventually arrested on various felony charges.
