Commercial Border Crossing Drops at the Mariposa Port of Entry

This Tuesday at noon, commercial border crossing dropped drastically at the Mariposa Port of Entry in the border town of Nogales, Sonora and Nogales, Arizona.
During Tuesday afternoon, barely two trucks lined up to entry the United States. The port has five regular lines of entry to the United States and two FAST lines of expedited crossing.
Mariposa in Nogales is the most important commercial crossing port in the Corridor Sonora-Arizona.
In 2019 it registered 349,377 northbound commercial truck entries, a daily average of 957.
And according to the United States Bureau of Transportation, the trend in the last 24 years has been mainly rising.
During normal season between 300 and 500 trucks cross the Nogales Port into the United States carrying manufacturing products for export and other goods such as fresh products and produce.
There are occasions that the number raises to 1,500 per day.
