GEORGIA.- Colonial restarts the 5,500 miles gasoline pipeline that closed a week ago due to a ransomware cyberattack by Russian information pirates named DarkSide.
The gasoline supply will take several days to normalize, informed the company to news agencies.
The gas shortages affected some states on the East Coast and resulted in panic buys at some of the affected cities.

Also, some gas stations were left without gasoline and other were forced to limit the gas sales to a maximum of ten dollars per car.
DarkSide demanded multi-million ransom to Colonial Pipeline
The information pirates that execute the cyberattack demanded millions of dollars as a ransom, which the pipeline operator denied to pay and ask for the help of the Secretary of Energy and local, state, and federal authorities.
The Colonial Pipeline is responsible for the daily supply of more than 100 million gallons of gasoline to the East Coast, almost half of the total supply to this area.
