Close to 200,000 Dollars in Cash Confiscated
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Nearly 200 thousand dollars in cash were seized on Tuesday night by the Customs and National Guard authorities in the Nogales Port of Entry.
The money was transported by a citizen of the United States entering Mexico in a pick up truck.
The seizure occurred when customs and National Guard agents inspected the car and found a backpack with bundles of cash. Authorities found a total of $199,800 cash.
Nogales Port holds one of the first spots nationwide in seizures of guns and cash.
In the last two months, with the support of the National Guard and the Mexican Army, seizures have increased, mainly finding guns, ammunition, and cash.
