City Streets Sanitized With Chlorine and Soap

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Local government is sanitizing the busiest streets of the border town of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

The objective of the strategy is to mitigate the probability of Covid-19 infections, especially from May 10, which is the date that health authorities think there will be more infections.

The director of Public Works, Jesus Baez, announced that the cleanup began on Obregon Avenue and will include high-risk sites like the General Hospital and Social Security Hospital.

He added that the sanitization plan will continue on to neighborhoods such as San Miguel, San Carlos, and Bellotas and will be followed by the busiest neighborhoods.

“We will be sanitizing the streets for 40 days, we will divide the workers into sectors for better performance; the workers are well equipped with personal protective equipment,” he said.

They are using a solution made of water, chlorine, and soap to sanitize the streets. They pour the solution on the street and use industrial brushes to spread it.
