Cigarette Cargo Seized at Port of Entry Garita Mariposa

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – Nogales Customs authorities supported by the National Guard members, seized a total of 1,650 packs of Patrol brand cigarettes at Port of Entry Garita Mariposa.

According to information by the National Guard, Customs personnel requested their presence on Wednesday around 17:30.

Moments before a 25-year-old motorist identified as Julio Cesar B arrived in the self-declaration lane. The driver is originally from the Mexican state of Nayarit and currently resides in the city of Nogales in the neighborhood Del Valle neighborhood

The individual was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup with Arizona license plates. Inside the car, authorities found 1,650 patrol-brand cigarette packs.

The man was referred to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) for the alleged commission of the crime of contraband.
