CBP Stops 160,000 Cash Smuggle Attempts

NOGALES, ARIZONA, USA – A total of $160,000 in cash was confiscated by CBP in two incidents that occurred at the international border ports of entry of Nogales and Yuma, Arizona.

In the case of Nogales $127,000 were seized, they were smuggled by a 37-year-old Mexican national.

The money was hidden inside transparent rubber bags that were attached to the bottom of the back seat of his car. He was caught by the CBP officers conducting inspections on the exit lines into Mexico.

Nogales was not the only border port that documented a cash finding, San Luis customs agents also seized $33,000 in cash carried by two US citizens.
