Car Pursuit in Hermosillo, Two Men Detained

Hermosillo, Sonora, MX –

A pursuit in the south area of Hermosillo, Sonora resulted in State Police officers capturing two armed men. Officers also confiscated the car involved which contained several doses of illegal drugs.

The detainees were identified as Cristian “N”, and Francisco “N”, of 21 and 27 years old, respectively.  They were arrested in the neighborhood Bonanza and accused of possession of narcotics and a firearm.

The individuals were detained at noon on Friday when agents were patrolling the neighborhood Villas del Sur.  Police officers noticed a Chevrolet, Aveo exceeding the speed limit and signaled the driver to stop.

The driver did not stop and a pursuit initiated through some boulevards in Hermosillo such as Santa Clara, Xólotl and Cimarrón.

Finally the driver stopped momentarily on Mixteca Street and one of the occupants got off the car and tried to escape, but he was apprehended moments later.  The person was identified as Francisco N, when he tried to escape, he threw a 22-caliber revolver with six bullets to the street.

When the police officers inspected his clothes they found fourteen small packages of narcotics, they did not reveal the type.

Other agents continued in pursuit of the driver, who was arrested shortly after on Tepehuanes street, in the neighborhood Bonanza.

The driver was identified as Cristian N, who was carrying a bb gun and 24 doses of narcotics.

Police officers found more doses of narcotics inside the drug during the search.

The two detainees will be legally prosecuted on charges of possession of a firearm and narcotics.
