Border Tunnel Found in San Luis Might be the Most Sophisticated in History
SAN LUIS, ARIZONA, US – What could be the most sophisticated drug tunnel in history, was detected last Tuesday on the border area of San Luis, Arizona, and San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
The conduit traveled a distance of approximately 1300 feet, had a ventilation system, as well as water and electricity lines, and a rail system. It was detected after several days of excavations.
The investigations began in mid-July when a sinkhole was detected in the border wall, confirmed the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
On the US side, the tunnel reached the 1300 block of the Los Olivos neighborhood, passing the border to Mexico at 10th Street and Carlos G. Calles Avenue. The total longitude sized about 400 meters.
In a statement, the US authorities indicate that the conduit is one meter wide and 1.20 meters high.
On July 27, excavation began detecting that there were pieces of wood and hoses, so a special camera was introduced, thus detecting the tunnel. And it was this Tuesday when they seized it.
