La Patrulla Fronteriza reactivó operativos de inmigración en Chicago y zonas como Little Village, Cicero, Berwyn y Evanston, tras varias semanas en pausa.
La operación, conocida como “Midway Blitz”, se intensificó desde el 16 de diciembre.
En Evanston, una detención en una gasolinera provocó un enfrentamiento público:
el alcalde Daniel Biss acusó a agentes federales, liderados por Gregory Bovino, de generar miedo en la comunidad.
Bovino defendió las acciones y aseguró que el operativo enfrenta resistencia y protestas.

CHICAGO.- Did you know that immigration raids returned to Chicago this week?
And the crash was direct with a stranger.
The Border Patrol reactivated immigration operations in Chicago and areas such as Little Village, Cicero, Berwyn and Evanston, after a several-week hiatus.
The operation, known as the “Midway Blitz,” has intensified since December 16. In Evanston, an arrest at a gas station sparked a public confrontation: Mayor Daniel Biss accused federal agents, led by Bovino, of generating fear in the community.
Bovino defended the actions and assured that the operation faces resistance and protests.
The political reaction was immediate: analyst JB Pritzker described the raids as measures affecting holiday families.
The Chicago mayor also questioned the timing.
DHS claims that the operations target serious crimes, but has not published official figures.
Local media report at least 15 people dead in a single day.
