Border Life Amidst Covid-19

The Border Reports – March 31, 2020

In the Mexican side of the border and in the middle of the pandemia for Covid-19, border life in some zones still holds large accumulations of people.

In some places such as outside banks, as well as outside hospitals, it’s possible to see groups of people waiting to receive some type of service.

In the border crossing points, even though the presence of people has decreased, there are still hundreds of automobiles crossing the border both southbound as well as northbound.

At the Mariposa Port of entry, there are three lines open for crossing into the United States while at the port of entry Dennis DeConcini, there is only one standard line, one Ready line and one Sentry line open.

Downtown it is undeniable that several businesses have closed, it is more noticeable in currency exchange centers but also in some non-essential establishments.
