Bilateral Collaboration Leads to Huge Bust
SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, SONORA, MX – State police officers and soldiers from the Mexican Army (SEDENA) reported the seizure of hundreds of pounds of drugs outside the city in a bilateral operation.
According to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), days ago, the Air and Marine Operations officers transmitted information to Mexican authorities about suspicious plane flights over the border area of San Luis Rio Colorado.
The information led Mexican authorities to the seizure of 398 pounds of methamphetamine, 2.9 pounds of marijuana, 29 pounds of fentanyl and 4 packages of cocaine.
The incident occurred last Sunday at 7 p.m. when Mexican authorities went to Laguna Prieta, where they found an abandoned golden Chevrolet, Tahoe with the lights turned on and the doors open.
Inside the vehicle they found five boxes of methamphetamine, six bags with fentanyl blue pills, four packages with cocaine and five more bundles with marijuana.
Authorities seized the vehicle with the illegal cargo, which was delivered to the Federal Attorney for the proceeding legal investigation process.
