Bighorn Fire Tucson Update
TUCSON, ARIZONA, US – The Tucson Bighorn fire has consumed until this Tuesday 15,805 acres and emergency authorities issued a new alert of evacuation.
At 1:27 pm an evacuation notice was issued to residents of some areas of Mount Lemmon and Mount Bigelow north of Organization Ridge Road, including Summerhaven.
The Southwest Incident Management team reported that 729 people have been fighting the fire that started since June 5 due to a lightning strike in the Santa Catalina mountains.
In the last hours, the teams have carried out burning operations in the Northeast areas and helicopters have been used to reduce the increasing fire emerging in the Romero Pass area.
Until then the fire had been 30% contained.
