Bighorn Fire Tucson
TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA – A total of 118,370 acres have been affected by the fire in North Tucson after almost four weeks of the ignition. Until today, it is contained by 54%.
Residential communities in locations such as the Catalina Mountains, Redington Road, Lemmon and Bigelow Mountains areas, Organization Ridge Road, Willow Canyon and Summerhaven remain evacuated.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Officer and the Office of Emergency Management, the fire started June 5 due to a lightning strike.
A total of 1,080 people work in the tasks of fire control and extinguishing.
The flames spread north to Tucson and east of the region Oro Valley
