Authorities Find Abandoned Car Containing Ammunition

MAGDALENA DE KINO, SONORA, MX – Members of the National Guard in coordination with the Mexican Army found a white Ford Ranger truck where they found AK-47 and R-15 ammunition.

The incident happened on June 21 in the Magdalena de Kino, Sonora area.

According to a press release, authorities were conducting surveillance patrols with elements of the Mexican Army in the Ejido Coyotillo area, where they located the abandoned pick up without official license plates.

They carried out a routine inspection and found several magazines for automatic weapons inside. They also found ammunition of different calibers, in addition to ten packages with a dark substance matching the characteristics of opium.

In the vehicle they also found some bags with marijuana
