Attacker Was Seeking Revenge on a Family Charged With Attempted Premeditated Murder

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, SONORA, MX – Erick N, and Vicente N went to a food establishment with the sole purpose of depriving the owner and her son of their lives.

According to reports from the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) and agents of the Municipal Police of San Luis Rio Colorado, they were able to locate, apprehend and link the two suspects to the trial for attempted murder with premeditation, treachery, and advantage, against three people.

The events occurred on May 26, between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm, the victims identified as 50-year-old Catalina N, 27-year-old Leonardo N, Heliodoro N, and two minors were inside the food restaurant.

Both of the aggressors, Erick N and Vicente N arrived at the store with the premeditated and sole objective of collecting revenge and killing Catalina and Leonardo. They brought along another subject with them to help in carrying out the deadly task. They were armed with metal tubes and carried a firearm.

Upon arriving at the establishment, the perpetrators began to attack the victims hitting them with the tubes while threatening that they would be killed. They also vandalized the business and detonated the firearms against the victims.

The victims, according to the police report, managed to take shelter inside the kitchen, where they were able to take refuge by closing the metal door and window to avoid being killed. The victim Leonardo N was injured by the beating he received with the metal tubes.

Earlier That Day

The prosecution reported that according to the evidence obtained during the investigation, it was established that earlier on the same day, May 26 at 11:00 am, one of the aggressors, Erick N, almost ran over Catalina N with a motorcycle.

Leonardo N who was with Catalina N asked the driver to be careful, but the driver responded by punching him with the help of his accomplice Vicente N.

Municipal police arrived and arrested the attackers as they threatened the victims saying they would take revenge, all because Leonardo and Catalina identified them as the motorcyclist who almost ran her over. The driver and his accomplice were transferred to the Police headquarters but since the victims did not file an official complaint, the attackers were only subject to an administrative sanction.

As soon as they were released, the two men returned to the food establishment with the company of a third attacker. They had the sole intent of killing the victims that identified them earlier. Thus, the attack began, luckily it had no fatal consequences.

On June 2 Erick N and Vicente N were linked to the criminal process, in addition, the judge ordered informal preventive detention as a precautionary measure and established a period of 4 months for the completion of the complementary investigation.
