Arizona’s Stay At Home Order Expires

TUCSON, ARIZONA, USA – The state of Arizona continued this week with the reopening of most of the businesses due to the expiration, during this Friday, of the executive state order Stay at Home.

Retail stores, malls, restaurants, and large establishments have gradually joined the gradual opening of their businesses for customers as part of the economic recovery plan.

Not all stores have opened yet though guidelines have been released to operate after the Covid-19 epidemic, which, as of Friday, it had caused 13,169 infected people and 651 deaths.

On Friday the 15th, the executive order to Stay at Home concluded, which was replaced by a new economic recovery provision that comes into effect this Saturday.

The new provision aligns with criteria issued by the White House and CDC and aims to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 resurgence, protect the vulnerable population and guide the reopening of businesses with greater physical distance and security measures.

On the southern border, Mexican tourists still cannot cross the border into the USA, as the federal policy of only allowing essential crossings remains in effect until Tuesday, May 19.

For US residents, crossing into Mexico is allowed, but travelers must stop at a checkpoint on the Mexican side, where they get their temperature taken, and walk through a sanitation tunnel before continuing on their way.

If the restriction is not extended, Mexican tourists will be able to travel to the United States beginning Wednesday.

In Arizona, some casinos have already opened their doors, but in some cases, such as Casino del Sol, it was announced on their Facebook portal that they will continue to be closed until May 28.
