Arizona Stay-Home Order Ends On Saturday. Gyms and Pools Can Open Wednesday

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA – The Arizona State Government will end the Stay Home order on Saturday morning, but from this Wednesday places like gyms and pools may be open.

This Tuesday, Doug Ducey, Governor of Arizona, announced that the measure will be replaced by a new guide for the next stage of economic recovery.

In an announcement the governor said that the new guideline aligns with selection criteria issued by the White House and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

And it aims to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 resurgence, protect vulnerable populations, and guide the reopening of businesses with increased physical distance and security measures in place.

Executive order

The new executive order issued takes effect on Saturday, May 16, and builds on Arizona’s comprehensive efforts to stem the spread of Coronavirus and protect public health.

Among other things, it includes increasing the availability and frequency of tests, implementing monitoring of key health metrics, such as reported symptomatic cases and use of the emergency room.

In addition to lifting the surge hospital’s ability to be used as needed and expand contact tracking across the state.

As well as the reinforcement of the supply chains of personal protective equipment for front-line medical workers and emergency personnel.

Likewise, implement improved safety protocols to protect those who live and work in high-risk facilities such as nursing homes and provide public health guidance to companies and individuals to ensure continued physical distance.

The governor also announced an accelerated plan to screen all staff and residents of long-term care facilities, as well as people within Arizona prisons.

The Arizona Department of Health Services partnership with private sector laboratories to expand testing to 147 long-term care facilities and provide antibody testing for correctional officers.

In addition, major league sports can resume a limited reopening, with no fans, this Saturday, May 16.

The Arizona Department of Health Services has also released additional guidance for businesses and customers as more industries resume partial operations.
