After a Two-Month Pause, Paving in Nuevo Nogales Industrial Park Resumes
NOGALES, SONORA, MX – After a two-month pause, the Nogales industry will restart the paving work in the Nuevo Nogales Industrial Park this Wednesday.
Genaro Vecerra, executive director of Index Nogales, explained that the work was paused for two months.
He indicated that six months ago the paving project began and they expect that in two and a half or three months it will be completed.
The cost of this work is 15 million pesos, with the City Government of Nogales contributing 50% and nine private companies contributing another 50%.
“The work has been paused for two months, six months since it started and has been paused by different situations, one of them has been the flow of resources,” he said.
“There is no obligation on the neighbors to contribute money, however, some of them agreed to collaborate with the City Government, and the agreements were made,” he said.
The executive director of AMS Index Nogales highlighted that the unfinished work has a negative impact because workers, neighbors, and people who use those streets must travel on one lane, affecting the flow, especially during high-traffic hours.
