20-Year-Old Sentenced to 25 Years In Prison For Homicide

NOGALES, SONORA, MX – In just two days, staff from the Attorney General’s Office obtained a prison sentence of 25 years against 20-year-old Nathanael Isai N for homicide.

Nathanael was arrested on April 21 when he was boarding a vehicle that was recorded by C5i cameras of the State Public Security Secretary.

The collected evidence established the involvement of Nathanael Isai in the murder of Jose Antonio N.

Elements of the Ministerial Agency for Criminal Investigation (AMIC) executed the arrest warrant for the homicide, after officials from the Municipal Public Security of Nogales, coordinated by the FGJE, arrested Natanael Isai on April 21.

The victim Jose Antonio N was found dead on January 20 at a ranch located in the vicinity of Periférico Oriente. Relatives had filed a missing person report on January 9.

Authorities initiated an investigation and located a 9-millimeter bullet casing in the area where the body was found. Investigations by the staff of the State Prosecutor’s Office determined that it was a homicide.

Also, after reviewing C5i camera footage, it was found that the victim’s vehicle, a 2004 Dodge Ram, had crossed the road with another automotive unit behind him, a gray Nissan Armada, 2007 model.

When Natanael Isai was detained, onboard the gray Nissan Armada, he was found in possession of narcotics. He said that in fact, he killed Jose Antonio because they had money-related problems. The accused’s statement matched the expert opinion of the criminal law department and was corroborated by evidence.
