100 Non-Essential Nogales Businesses Re-Open To The Public

NOGALES, SONORA, MEXICO – Nearly 100 non-essential businesses in downtown Nogales reopened this week, although the Sonora State government has not released official authorization.

Business owners state that the reason is that after 70 days of closing, they are drowning in debt and need to reactivate to improve their economy.

The establishments that have opened range from clothing stores, bars, barbershops, jewelry stores, shoe stores, and photography studios among others.

Alfredo Lara, representative of local businessmen in the downtown area, explained that the establishments located on Avenida Obregon, even the small ones, have accumulated debt of around $6,000.
